Garden Clean Up - Jessica Serrano

For my third Service Project, I decided to do Garden Clean Up. I enjoy being outside and in nature so this seemed like a great project for me. I did my work on March 28 and March 29. I can say that overall it was a great experience.
On the first day, I completed one hour of work. I first went around the multiple gardens on campus looking for trash that was left behind. Most of the trash I found was made out of a form of plastic which can be harmful to plants and animals. For example one of the chickens might mistake it for food and that would not be good. After going around looking for trash, I started working on pulling the weeds out of the student parking lot. I pulled out the weeds of at least half the garden.
On the second day, I went around again looking for trash to begin. I found some trash but not as much as the day before. I then grabbed some gloves and a bucket and continued to work on pulling the weeds out of the student parking. Most of my work was done in that garden. Since it rained for weeks, it was easier pulling out the weeds. In the end, about two buckets were filled with weeds that were pulled out that day.

Below are some pictures that show my  work throughout the past two days which includes picking up trash and pulling out weeds.

The picture below is showing the finished product after pulling out the weeds.
