Blog post #4 Christopher .D Biology 2 Mr.Bursch

Some of the abiotic factors are the soil and the weather conditions around the plant. Some of the biotic factors are the animals and insects interacting with the plant. For example the weather could help the plant grow a lot, or it could slow down the growth. An example of a biotic factor is the bugs in the area of the plant that would eat it. I know that the plants are participating because there are other plants in the same area that need the same things to survive. They are competing for water, sunlight, etc. The competition is the other plants growing in the same area. The 'Winners" are the plants that are able to grow more above the others. It is not always so easy to tell who wins and losses is that they could be growing at a very similar rate to each other. The plants are involved in the water , carbon, and nitrogen cycle. Some plants could be getting more water from the water cycle than others are. The plants were put there and are now growing, but before then were not plants living in that area. It seems more like secondary succession because there was no natural disaster that occurred.
