For my service project, I decided to help out in cleaning the garden with my friends. I wanted to do this because I've always found joy in making things orderly and completing work. There's something indescribably satisfying about completing physical labor, and I love it. On the first day, my friends and I moved a few wheelbarrows of mulch into a planter area behind the T? wing. The whole task took around an hour and a half. On the second day, we continued the moving of the mulch, but instead, to the chicken pen. I scooped mulch into the wheelbarrows with a few friends, while some other friends hauled the mulch and spread it around at its destination. After finishing that, we had to put mulch inside the fence that keeps the chickens in. We were tired and sweaty so, not wanting to heave the mulch around and into the coop, we tossed it over. This ended up being a semi-smart move in the end because we got a decent distribution of the mulch in the coop. Once we finished with that, we put away the tools and wheelbarrows and were finished. When all is said and done, I'm really glad I picked this as my project, because it really makes me feel like I did something that matters, something that actually helps, and isn't just a cosmetic piece.
