How Does The Garden Grow?

HOW DOES THE GARDEN GROW?

BLOG POST # 6

The first step in getting a garden growing is to sit down and make a plan. This applies whether you are working on an existing space or creating a new garden from the ground up and skipping this step can go a long way toward adding to your frustration when things aren’t going so well mid-season. The garden plan should include the nuts and bolts of the garden space; everything from dimensions to soil type, sunlight and shade notes to water availability and drainage. It also needs to guard the plants to find out whether there is a canoe or something damaged in the garden. Do not let the water drain into the plant pot so it does not drown. And this is what I know of how to live in the garden

Jonathan's Spring Cleaning Blog Post

Although I did only two hours of garden cleanup, it was fun mulching the garden fields and scooping the chicken waste out of the coop to turn it into compost. I also tried my best not to let the chickens out of the pen. Cleaning up the environment is always a good thing to keep the Earth clean and healthy. The mulch prevents weeds from growing around the area and when the chicken waste turns into compost, it can benefit the soil massively; it is a good way to grow plants and prevent trash from going to the landfill. If the compost mixes with wood chips and leaves, then it becomes mulch.
