Garden Cleanup - Avin Dorsay
Hi, my name is Avin Dorsay, and I have helped clean out our school's garden and learned plenty along the way. At first, it started with picking up trash around the garden and within it. Then, I moved on to moving some plants from one garden to another across campus and saving some of the lives of some other plants which were lacking soil, by filling their pots with soil and covering up all of their roots. Later on, I moved all of the rose bush brush via a wheelbarrow from within the garden, then brought it out and put it in the big pile of brush near the compost. Shortly after, I weeded as much of the garden as I could barehanded and I also pulled out the grass near the stones. And lastly, I helped clear out the entire shed, swept all of the dirt and dust out, and reorganized everything back into the shed. Throughout this whole experience, I learned about many of the gardening tools, techniques, and plenty about our garden's insects.

Garden Cleanup
My name is Isabella Pellegrini, my first day of garden clean was to not just clean the garden but to clean the shed containing all of the necessities for the garden and biology classes. First thing we did was take everything out of the shed, sweep, clean, and later on organize and put it all back. not only did I clean the garden I also learned about many different tools and insects used in the garden. In the garden many other necessities are needed other than dirt and soil. many more is needed such as mulch, wood, gardening gloves, and many more things. and much compost is also found in many things such as old food or even roots and weeds. my garden cleanup experience helped me no more about the garden, the insects, and what all goes into the whole process of making the garden what it is today.

garden cleanup
The first day of garden cleanup i shoveled wood pieces into a wheelbarrow and put them on top of dirt near plants. In total we put the wood pieces into 3 places where there was plants. Meanwhile we did that we also ripped out weed. After we cleaned we cleaned the trash that people left on the floor in the garden. The second day I went I helped put wood pieces into where the chickens were. We put it all over the floor. Doing garden cleanup helped keep the plants alive and also clean the trash people left. Also it helped so when people go it isn't dirty.
Garden cleanup
Hello,my name is zander calfee and I did garden cleanup On Monday the 9th and Wednesday the 11th on the first day I went for an hour and me and my group moved mulch from the pile to the front of the fence and on the second day I did another hour and me and my group moved mulch to the spots in the ground that were missing mulch
Garden Cleanup
During Garden Cleanup I didn’t just help “clean up the garden” I also learned more about the garden in general. At first I thought to clean up the garden we only needed to weed and mow grass. However I was completely wrong! There was far more to do and what I did is explained below.
On my first day I along with another student worked at cutting withered rose branches. We had to use gloves because of the thorns. It’s funny how something so pretty can also be so prickly. Even with powerful metal leaf cutters some of the rose bush’s branches were very tough. After around 50 minutes the rose branches were piled up in one area to decompose.
The following week I worked with many others on gathering mulch to spread throughout the chicken pen’s perimeter. We needed to do this so the crafty chickens would not seek escape under the fence. I never knew what the giant pile of wood bits was for in the parking lot until then. There was a large amount of mulch needed. In the mulch pile I saw many black beetles scurrying about. They probably use the wood for shelter and maybe food. So these beetles must be decomposers of some sort.
For my last day at garden cleanup I only needed 10 more minutes. So along with help from another student we picked up garbage throughout the garden. There was lots of plastic chocked between the plants. Especially in the bench area there was the highest concentration of trash. Which just shows how some people simply don’t care about the environment. Especially since there are far larger concentrations of trash throughout the planet. From highways bordering forests to the ocean. That was what I did for my garden cleanup. Breaking rose branches, gathering mulch, and cleaning up the garden.

Garden Cleanup
For my project in willow glen I helped Mr. Bursch with his garden. On my first day of garden cleanup, we were shoveling mulch into the wheel barrels. We put the mulch against the chickens fence. We had to refill the wheel barrels about 3 times. We did this for one hour. On our second day of garden cleanup, we shoveled mulch over all the spots of soil in the garden. A corner in the garden was just a dip into soil so we put a lot of mulch and covered it. Also i swept the mulch that fell of the sidewalk of the garden back into it.
Garden Cleanup Dylan Slocum
In my garden cleanup sessions, I got rid of a dead rose and bush, helped with the mulch in the chicken coupe, and help with the plant nursery. The dead rose bush was in the way of someone's project and i was assigned to get rid of it, so the project could be put into the ground. There were people already working on the mulch, but i had extra time and decided to help replace the old decomposed mulch, with the new mulch. In my second hour, I was assigned to pull stray plants out of the ground and put them into a bucket with dirt in it so they could put it in the plant nursery.
So our first day of garden clean, we had to clean the chicken coop. So me and Anthony would switch off carrying the buckets of all the poop in the chicken coop. Then me and Anthony second day of the garden clean up is that we had to make a better entrance for the chicken coop. So, what we did is that we used shovels to get all the bark out of the way of the entrance all put the bark back in the chicken coop. Our third and last day of the garden clean up is that we had to cut the grass close to the chickens down to two inches.

ESPL GARDEN CLEAN UP STEVEN GARCIA
In the first day of garden clean up I had to put a bunch red wood bark on to a big container with wheels and move it towards the spots that needed some. After that I helped cut off the branches growing on the fence of the chicken coop. The next day I helped pick up trash around the school campus. After doing that for 30 minutes, I went back the garden gave the plants more water. Then trimmed of some of the plants that were dying or unnecessary. That concludes my 2 hours of garden clean up.
Garden Cleanup #3
For my third round of garden cleanup I had started of with trimming weeds and grass by the chicken coup. Then I picked up some more trash and cleaned up some of the plants. Then I moved over the Mickey long center to do some more trimming and cleaning over there. I started with picking some weeds and removing trash by there. After that I pulled more dead grass and weeds to help the plants grow better. This has helped the plants because the weeds take their nutrients and can harm the plants in the garden.
Garden Cleanup round 2
For my second time around in the garden I was shoveling mulch into the chicken coup and cutting up branches to easily dispose of them. I then picked up some trash cleaned up a lot of the surrounding area as well. Soon after I had shoveled almost two inches of mulch around the coup and the garden. I then went to the Mickey long center and picked up trash over there and trimmed up some more weeds. After two hours I had finished my cleaned up a lot of the area and helped the garden look nicer and cleaner.
Garden Cleanup
My group and I went out and worked on two separate occasions. The first time we filled the area around the flag pole with new wood chips. Doing that will keep the area easy to walk on, but its also biodegradable so it creates no rain.
The second time that we went out, we worked in the hummingbird garden. There, we started out by taking seeds of some of the plants and redistributed them, in hopes that they will grow a new one. After that, we weeded the unknown type of grass out from around the poppy plant. This made it so the poppy can grow with no interferences.
Garden Cleanup- Arjun
During the two hours I worked on the garden I took several roles. On my first day I brought mulch to the compost pile and soaked it in water. I worked to replace the mulch inside the chicken coop by carrying a wheelbarrow from the parking lot to the coop. After numerous visits between the parking lot and coop, most of the coop was covered. For my second hour I spent a vast amount of time lining the fence and covering soil with mulch. Once I finished I swept the path so excess mulch was not on the ground. Overall, the experience was good and I would do this again.
Garden cleanup
What I have done for my ESLP project I did garden cleanup. I put out mulch for the chickens and some around the garden as well. After that I trimmed up the weeds that were around to help the plants grow better and make it look nicer. Then I picked up trash throughout the garden and make the place look cleaner. This is very beneficial to the plants in the garden as well as the animals too because when the area is clean, the plants can grow better since all the weeds are gone. This is helpful to the animals like the chickens because sometimes they might eat the trash and can possible be harmed. I have pictures of what I have done below here.
Garden service project
For my project in science class I helped clean up the garden in Willow Glen High School. I helped fill up the chicken coop with wood chips. I also brought the wood chips around the chicken cage higher by brushing them against the cage. The last thing I did was sweep the leaves, wood chips and anything else off the side walk.
Garden clean up blog #2
Me and my group did garden clean up. We watered the plants and removed moltch from the parking lot and put it in the chicken coop. Then after that we soaked the compost piles because they were really dried up and they weren't really doing their job.
garden clean up
In many two hours, I was shoveling munch. The first hour of my work I was shoving mulch in to the chicken coop till it was just under the door of the chicken coop. My next hour we had to shovel more mulch around the perimeter of the fence because the last group put a new fence in. We put the mulch in the wheel barrel and the shoveled it into the coop and around the new fence. This makes it so the chickens can't dig out under the fence, and give the chickens more ground to stand on in the coop. I also picked up trash around the coop and z-wing.

Garden Clean Up
We did garden clean up and we were shoveling dirt into the barrels and putting it in the chicken coop. This helps the chickens because they need fresh dirt to dig in and before we started garden clean up there was dying molch in the ground and the chickens digg in that and sleep in it so when we added new dirt it was good for the chickens. Thats why we did garden clean up.

Garden Clean Up
What I did during my sessions of garden clean up was, I replaced the mulch around the garden areas and around the chicken coupe. The initial mulch was starting to decompose and take a darker color. I brought out a wheel barrel and a shovel to a large pile of

Garden cleanups#1-Lisa Tran
In biology class, I was involved in a chicken and garden cleaning project. In the chicken coop I realized that the tanbarks were too old so I replaced it with new tanbarks. After that I went to pick up trash around the garden, and after I picked it up, I felt it was a lot cleaner. This project has made a very happy memory. I was able to learn more about chickens and I felt that I had done something useful to protect the environment.
Garden Clean Up-Audrey Holmberg and Samantha Kirkendall
Recently we were assigned the task of completing a service project in our Biology class. We chose to help clean up the Willow Glen Garden. In the garden, there are wood chips that form a walkway. They were worn down so we remade the path. We started at the end where the shed is and worked our way over to the chicken coop.
Before:
This is the pathway before we did any work. And this is after we completed the new pathway.

garden cleanup
For the first hour of garden clean up I went around the school picking up trash at every garden that was on campus. I also helped pull the dead weeds out the ground. For my second hour of garden clean up I helped get tanbark to the chicken coop because the tanbark that was already there was old so I got some new tanbark.
Service project #4 Victoria Marroquin
This Is what the plant before looked like when i went to pick them, they were very small and tiny, all I did was grabs a shovel and some pots and then i stabbed into the ground around the plant, disconnecting the roots, and then I put them into a pot and watered them.
This is what the plants look like now, they're in the shade and have just been watered
